Sweet Lovin’ at the Proposition Tent
First Friday July 5, 6:30 – 9pm

North 11th and Carlton Streets
(Between Wood and Callowhill Streets, across from Vox Populi and The Trestle Inn) (map)

The Proposition Tent is a platform for a range of compelling ideas rooted in local Philly neighborhoods and on the international stage. Literally housed in a big red tent, it provides a chance to shake up the format for what an art show can be and who can be in it. The Proposition Tent isn’t just an art show – it is a convivial space for the communication of ideas.

July’s topic, Sweet Lovin’, is our most sincere and sentimental yet. But honestly folks, what’s more important than love? Artists, activists, and writers explore the depths of the heart and attempt to contribute to the pursuit of love. Features work by Yoko Ono and John Lennon; local artist Leroy Johnson; local nonprofit LoveLovingLove; as well as a statement by Rebecca Solnit, which will be read aloud.
