July is shaping up to be a banner month for Eraserhood related events!

  • It all started last night, downtown at Cafe 12, where eraserhood.com photographer Bob Bruhin opened his Greetings from the Eraserhood photo exhibition in conjunction with the Photographic Society of Philadelphia. This show, featuring Bruhin’s “twisted views of a demented square mile,” will be hanging through August. More information at http://phillyphotosociety.tumblr.com/post/53279013346/
  • The next big event in the July Eraserhood calendar begins at 6:30pm July 12 with the grand opening of PhilaMOCA’s Eraserhood Forever (and Ever) art and performance event (with after-party at The Trestle Inn, featuring Eraserhood-themed drinks). (…and yes, Bruhin from eraserhood.com will have two images in this exhibit. You may see his face in other places that evening, as well.) If this is anything at all like last year’s event, it promises to be the Eraserhood event of the season! More information at https://www.facebook.com/events/524477577593602/
  • Finally, on Tuesday July 23, we will be rebooting ourselves here at eraserhood.com. This reboot will include the addition of talented new staff, exciting new content, and a totally revamped website. More details on this as the date approaches.

Join us for a Curator’s Talk with Hunter Braithwaite and preview of the VOX IX Juried Exhibition this First Friday, July 5th at 5:30pm. The work for VOX IX includes over 45 international and national artists. Braithwaite will be discussing the work and the selection process for this year’s Juried Exhibition.

Hunter Braithwaite lives in Miami, where he edits the Miami Rail and writes about contemporary art. After graduating from the College of William & Mary with degrees in English Literature and Cultural Theory, he worked briefly at National Geographic Travel Books in Washington, D.C. In 2009, he moved to Shanghai, where he covered the contemporary art scene for publications such as City Weekend Shanghai, Time Out Shanghai, and Asian Art News, as well as websites like artforum.com, artslant.com, artinfo.com, cnn.com, the Wall Street Journal Scene Asia blog. He relocated to Miami in 2011 and continued to work as a correspondent for the same publications, and others such as Art in America, Guernica, and Modern Painters. In April 2012, he became the founding editor of the Miami Rail, the first editorially-independent expansion of the Brooklyn Rail. Also, he teaches a digital journalism course at the Museum of Contemporary Art, North Miami and talks frequently in public.
