My name is Bob Bruhin. I work in the neighborhood, and take pictures there frequently. I started the site as a showcase for my photos of the area, though I also intend to discuss other local happenings, too. (You can see more of my work at http://bob-bruhin.com/)
I do NOT control the Facebook group “the Eraserhood” though, and do not know the name of the person who does. I really enjoy that group, though, try to remember to share my posts there as well as here, and wish more people would post there.
Thanks for your interest!!

An elevated railway high above the city, filled with wild grasses. You may have heard of New York’s High Line Park, but this isn’t it. No, Philly has it’s own secret garden, and it’s kind of way cooler.
I was recently introduced to the full extent of the Reading Viaduct’s City and 9th Street branches by the folks at ViaductGreene, and was amazed to discover the vast expanse of potential that is hidden in plain sight in the heart of the city.
I already knew a little bit about the meadow over the rooftops by 9th and Spring Garden, but to get there I first had to discover the tunnel beneath the city and the canyon between the buildings. The entire route runs from the Art Museum, across to Broad Street and all the way up N. 9th Street. This map should give you an idea of the ground that we covered. Here is what I discovered…

Underground Eats: Because Who Doesn’t Want To Eat Dumplings In A Basement?
Remember a few months ago when we wrote about how Underground Arts was looking to score a liquor license and a kitchen? Well, it appears that someone’s Christmas wish must’ve come true, because Meal Ticket is now reporting that the space has a name (Underground Eats, natch), a conditional liquor license and Tom Stalling on board as chef.
