Philadelphia’s Rail Park is an effort by three dedicated Philadelphians to transform an unused rail line into a grand pubic space that connects Fairmount Park to the cultural spine of Philadelphia along the Parkway down to City Hall. The space begins at the far end of Pennsylvania Avenue near 28th Street near Lemon Hill. That’s where a rail line runs underneath a tunnel that heads toward City Hall. Could that tunnel be of one Philadelphia’s next great civic spaces?

THURSDAY JUNE 6 – GOOSE ISLAND BREIWNG CO VS. GOOSE ISLAND BREWING CO: Goose Island Brewing Co will be going head to head against, well, themselves. We’re putting 4 extremely special beers on tap side by side with 4 “tricked out” versions of themselves.
You’ll only be seeing some of these once. So get here while you can.

FRIDAY JUNE 7 – HUGE BEER EVENT: The concept is simple. 8 taps. Nothing below 9%. That’s 10 hours of high gravity beers. Can your liver handle it???

SATURDAY JUNE 8 – “PHILLY’S WORST BEER GEEK” & BACKYARD BARBECUE: Think you know your sh*t…ahem…beer, that is?
You voted the worst beers in America, and now we’re putting you to the test. Each person who guesses 5 out of the 10 in a blind flight will “unlock” an EXTREMELY special keg from our cellar of their choosing. The first person to guess all 10 correctly will be dubbed “Phillys Worst Beer Geek”, and will go home with a new title and a slew of prizes.
As if that’s not enough, we will be roasting an entire pig snout to tail with Butcher Bryan and Chef Jen at the helm!
Brews and BBQ! What more could you want in life??

SUNDAY JUNE 9 – KICK THE KEGS WITH KBS & ALL DAY EGGS!
Enjoy Brunch ALL DAY as we nurse our Beer Week hangovers. But that’s not all…..
We will be giving away a FREE bottle of Founders KBS to whoever’s pint each keg kicks. No, we’re not kidding.
On top of brunch and KBS, we will be having a very special Beer Week BYOV! So bring your records down and get 20% off your entire tab!

AAU Summer Program Bubble Tea Happy Hour
Tea Talk
Philadelphia, PA
On Tuesday, June 4th, AAU is having a bubble tea happy hour for our 2013 AAU Summer Program. It’s a great opportunity to hang out with a smaller group of people, meet the new teachers and to support our Summer Program!  Everyone who buys a ticket will also receive a complementary bubble tea at our event!

Tickets are limited so please be sure to reserve an online ticket with Brown Paper Tickets or email [email protected] if you want to pay at the door. If you cannot attend, please consider buying a ticket anyways in support of the program!

The AAU Summer Program is a youth leadership program and a summer school for children. By training high school and college students to be teachers and mentors to children in their community, we simultaneously:

*serve an unmet community need for affordable summer enrichment programs;
provide positive role models for children;
*enhance children’s learning with a multicultural literacy-based interactive curriculum, project-based learning, and caring tutors and mentors;
*create the opportunity for youth to make real world contributions to their communities;
bridge generations, and
*develop their academic, leadership, and personal skills that will serve them throughout their lives.

This summer, 14 local high school and college students will be trained to be teachers and mentors while also learning leadership, teamwork and organizing skills. They will teach students in grades 2 to 9 this Fall.  The curriculum includes multicultural literacy, leadership training and team-building, a community action project connected to AAU’s Greening Project, sports, games, arts, music, history and cultural appreciation.

General Tickets:  $10-20 sliding scale (online or pay at the door). If you choose to pay at the door, please email us at [email protected] to reserve a ticket. Please RSVP via Brown Paper Tickets by Friday, May 31
