Persona Non Grata – Philly Premiere

Join us for the Philadelphia premiere of Persona Non Grata (Japan, 2015, 139 min.) with director Cellin Gluck in attendance. This narrative film tells the compelling and little-known story of the only Japanese Righteous Among the Nations, Chiune Sugihara, sometimes referred to as the “Japanese Schindler” who saved thousands of Jewish lives during World War II.

Presented in partnership with Japanese American Citizens League (JACL) – Philadelphia, and National Museum of American Jewish History.

$10 General Admission

ABOUT CELLIN GLUCK
Cellin Gluck grew up in Wakayama Prefecture, Japan, and began his film career with Ridley Scott’s Black Rain (1989). While he specializes in producing/directing US-Japan co-productions, he continues to work as an assistant director on Hollywood productions, such as Michael Bay’s Transformers (2007), Boaz Yakin’s Remember the Titans (2000), and Robert Zemeckis’ Contact (1997), and production manager on films like Memoirs of a Geisha (2005) and Godzilla (2014). He also directed US segments for Shinji Higuchi’s Lorelei (2005), Hideyuki Hirayama’s Oba: The Last Samurai (2011), and the 20th Century Boys trilogy (2008-2009) by Yukihiko Tsutsumi. In 2009, he made his debut as a film director with Sideways and Persona Non Grata is his second feature film.

Thanks to everyone who came out to our first Happy Hour in January!! Please join us on February 1st, and keep us “on track”. GET ON BOARD! In October 2016, the Center City District (CCD) broke ground on Phase 1 of The Rail Park. Stretching from Broad Street at Noble to Callowhill between 11th and 12th Streets, this historic quarter mile will soon become our city’s newest elevated public park, with a distinctive design that celebrates our industrial past and cultural heritage. As the excitement builds, join us on the first Wednesday of every month from 5PM-8PM as we grow awareness of the project and raise funds to close a $700,000 funding gap for Phase 1 construction. 20% of all sales from each monthly Build the Rail Park Happy Hour, hosted at The Trestle Inn, will go directly to support construction. The February 1st event features: $7 Ryed The Rails Cocktail Happy Hour Specials and More (to be announced) So grab some friends and get on board! This event is FREE but kindly Register.
