CALL FOR SUPPORT: Our zoning hearing is coming up on Wednesday, January 15, 9:30 AM at 1515 Arch Street, 18th Floor and we need your support! Anyone is welcome to testify in-person though our lawyer warns that they may not actually see us until later that morning. A helpful alternative is to write a letter of support for PhilaMOCA, here are some suggestions for content: explaining that PhilaMOCA is an asset to the city/community, explaining that PhilaMOCA is not harmful towards the community/youth, mentioning the uniqueness of the building and how it would otherwise be destroyed and replaced with condos, your personal experiences and feelings towards the space, you get the idea. Letters can be e-mailed to PhilaMOCA [GoFundMe is blocking the actual e-mail address, but it’s easy to find on our website] and we’ll hopefully be bringing a big stack of them to the hearing. The supportive words of performers, patrons, and professionals will all be helpful and we thank you for your time! This hearing and the raising of some additional funds are the only major obstacles in the path towards our reopening and we’re very hopeful that we’ll be back by March or April.
